Frazzled Moms vs. Wild
Description:
Two moms, one campsite, zero survival skills.
Dana Harding, a rule-following writer, fears nothing. Except bears. And outhouses. So, when her family votes to spend their vacation camping in the mountains, she’s anything but thrilled. Still, with her oldest heading off to college soon, she’s determined to make the most of the short time they have left, even if it means braving the great outdoors. Armed with her trusty bear spray and the world’s largest first aid kit, she trades modern comforts for family bonding. But roughing it takes an unexpected turn when Dana uncovers a mystery the campground’s owners, spunky and suspiciously wealthy sisters, would just as soon keep under wraps.
Dana’s neighbor Josie Caraway can’t think of anything worse than the idea of going camping with triplet two-year-olds. Between cosmetology school and wrangling the triple threat, she’s got a full plate. When her overbearing mother announces she’s coming to town and planning a permanent move nearby, Josie panics and blurts out a desperate lie to keep her mom at bay. Now she must make good on it by crashing the Hardings’ wilderness getaway. However, her deception backfires when a medical emergency at camp forces her to face the truth. And her mom.
Now Josie and Dana will have to work together to survive their multi-family chaos and the Colorado wild. Silver Mountain Campground won’t know what hit it.
Book Takeaway:
Life is messy and rarely what it seems, but it's always better when we have good people to walk through it with.
Why the author wrote this book:
Sometimes life feels dark and scary, so I reach for lighthearted books that let me escape my own head for a while. From personal experience with my own family, I've found camping to be the most memorable, unhinged, and absolutely hilarious way to escape the real world.
