Born in New Orleans, Christa has lived in Louisiana almost her entire life with the exception of a hiatus in Texas. She is the mother of five grown children, ages 32-24, and two grandgirls.

Christa now lives in Abita Springs with her husband Ken and their three neurotic cats. She is a National Board Certified teacher who currently teaches high school. She and her husband play golf and dodge hurricanes.
