Michael E. Cafferky
Author Bio:
For twenty-four years, Michael Cafferky served his
community—first as a pastor and then in healthcare
administration. After a successful healthcare career, from
2003 to 2017, he served as professor at Southern Adventist
University (SAU) School of Business, devoting his
scholarship efforts to better understand the intersection
of economics and biblical theology. While at SAU, he was
appointed to the position of endowed Ruth McKee Chair
for Entrepreneurship and Business Ethics, serving in this
capacity until his retirement. From 2015 through 2018, he
served as editor of the Journal of Biblical Integration in
Business. His articles have appeared in Faith in Business
Quarterly, Christian Business Review, Journal of Biblical
Integration in Business, Christian Business Academy Review,
and other magazines. Michael is a graduate of Atlantic
Union College, Andrews University Theological Seminary
(MDiv), Loma Linda University School of Public Health
(MPH), and Anderson University Falls School of Business,
where he earned a Doctor of Business Administration
degree. As his debut novel, On the Brink, was going to press, he was completing
the final Thesis requirements for the Master of Fine Arts degree in creative
writing at Lindenwood University. He is the author of
several peer-reviewed articles, conference presentations,
and nonfiction books. Michael has given presentations on
the scriptural foundations of business in the United States,
Canada, Russia, Ghana, South Africa, Australia, Lebanon,
Mexico, France, Rwanda, Thailand and the Philippines.
In 2023, Michael was a semifinalist for the American
Christian Fiction Writers Genesis contest. He continues to
write contemporary and historical fiction.
For several years, Michael was the primary caregiver for
his wife, Marlene, who had Parkinson’s disease and Lewy
Body dementia.
